Wi'am as a grassroots organization, strives alongside other democratic forces present in the larger Palestine community to build a democratic and just society. The Center aims to improve the quality of relationships by: addressing injustices rather than avenging them; dignifying persons on both sides of the conflict; promoting human rights and advocating for peace among all people.

The meaning of the Wi'am logo

The star represents the city and community of Bethlehem. It has been a symbol of this region from early in the Christian era, and is today on the official seal of the Bethlehem municipality. The hands clasped together represent the act and spirit of reconciliation-- instead of separate fists, the instruments of conflict.

The rays of light represent both the genuine struggle in non-violent reconciliation, and the enlightenment that comes with learning peaceful methods of conflict resolution.
